First Blog

I decided to set up a blog because Myspace and Facebook are hard to just post updates and thoughts. With the coming months, a lot will be changing and new things will be happening, so I thought this would be a perfect way to keep everyone in the loop with what's going on. I'm going to try to update at least a few times a week, so that I can capture each new thing.

Today's Memorial Day -- no school. Only 6 1/2 days of school left, which just seems crazy to me. This year has gone by soooo incredibly fast, and I've loved every minute of it. With this move to Massachusetts, I don't anticipate getting a job right away, probably not even within that first year, so it's reminding me more and more of how much I will miss teaching. I've really developed a great relationship with my students, and feel like this has been a very successful first year. I've been staying very busy these past couple of weeks, because Rodney and I will be moving out of our BELOVED apartment June 8th. We are, actually, pretty sad about moving out of this wonderful place, but excited to be moving on to the next step. After that, we'll be moving in with my parents until we move. The last day of regular school is June 4th, and I start summer school June 8th (the same day as moving out). It will be sheer madness. I will have to move everything out of my school room, everything out of our apartment, AND prepare for a 6-week session of summer school all in one weekend. Arg.
